Ye Olde Cider Bar in Newton Abbot is one of the last remaining real cider bars left in the country.

Be warned! Devon cider is strong and after about 4 pints that is about the limit for most drinkers before you just have to sleep it off.

Newton Abbot is on the A380 road west of Exeter. The number 2 bus from Exeter goes down the western side of the Exe Estuary through Starcross, Dawlish Warren, Dawlish and Teignmouth. The number 39 is more direct through Chudleigh and Bovey Tracey. There are also trains to Newton Abbot from Exeter St David’s Station.

The town has a lively, weekly market, too.
