Overcharged At Crown of Crucis, Cirencester, Cotswolds
I booked a room for 2 adults and a child at the Crown of Crucis Hotel outside Cirencester in the village of Ampney Crucis through Booking.com this month. I was later overcharged at the Crown of Crucis.
I asked on the internet booking form for an extra bed for my 9-year-old child, when we arrived there was no extra bed provided but we decided to get on with it and assumed that our note had not been received by reception.
On returning home we found we had been charged 20 GBP for the extra bed even though we had never received this service. Despite numerous phone calls and emails the management refused to reimburse me and so all we can recommend is that no-one stays as this seemingly dishonest and uncooperative establishment.

Ampney Crucis itself is a delightful village in the Cotswolds, 3 miles east of Cirencester on the A417. Mentioned in the Domesday Book, Ampney Crucis gets its name from the picturesque duck and fish-rich Ampney Brook, a small tributary of the Thames, and the parish church known as the Church of the Holy Cross.
