Haytor Dartmoor, Devon
Haytor (pictured above and below) on Dartmoor in Devon, south west England is one of the National Park’s most visited spots.
Two and a half miles east of Widecombe, on the B3387, Haytor stands at 454 meters above sea level.

The granite outcrop has some fantastic views of the moor and on a clear day, it is even possible to see the sea to the south.
Granite from the local quarries here was used to build the British Museum, and the original London Bridge, which is now in the USA.
When visiting Dartmoor or any natural wilderness area in Britain please take your rubbish home. Also please refrain from picking wild flowers.
Access – Getting There
Haytor is just south of the B8837. It is 8 miles northwest of the town of Newton Abbot. From Exeter, it is 16 miles southwest on the A38.
