Opposite used to be the Bath Postal Museum in the Old Post Office which has now closed with its collection dispersed or sold off. In the same building is the Fashion Museum Bath which is under renovation (as of September 2025) since its move from the Assembly Rooms. Also in this area is the 19th century St Michael’s Church with its imposing spire. The tower, including lantern and spire is thought to be the tallest of its kind in Bath at 54.8 meters (180ft).
