Totnes is located in south Devon on the River Dart, south west of Exeter and Newton Abbot. It is close to Paignton and the English Riviera of Torbay.

By road from Exeter take the A38 or A380 and turn on to the A385 for Totnes.

Totnes Station is on the Exeter to Plymouth Line 46 km from Exeter St Davids Station.

There are connections to Bristol Temple Meads Station in Bristol and then north to Birmingham New Street in Birmingham and Piccadilly Station in Manchester. There are also trains to London Paddington.
