From Exeter, Widecombe-in-the-Moor is about 40-50 minutes on the A38 and B3387. From Torquay, the journey is also about 40 minutes on the A383. In addition, from Plymouth allow about 45 minutes by car on the A38.
The 39 bus goes from Exeter Bus Station to Newton Abbot via Chudleigh and Bovey Tracey. The 271 bus goes to Widecombe-in-the-Moor from Newton Abbot Tesco Express (Stop B).
The village has a general store, a cafe, and also the Old Inn a rustic, rural pub that dates back to the 15th century. Dogs (on leads) are welcome in the bar areas and the pleasant garden. The pub has a selection of local beers and also serves lunch and a lovely Devon Cream Tea.
