Access – Getting There
Wigan has two stations very close to each other, Wigan Wallgate and Wigan North Western Station.
Wigan Wallgate has connections to Southport Station, Manchester Victoria, Manchester Airport and Bolton.
Wigan North Western Station has trains to London Euston, Glasgow Central, Birmingham New Street, and Liverpool Lime Street in Liverpool.
Wigan Pier is on the Leeds & Liverpool Canal.
The Museum of Wigan Life is close to the stations and has an eclectic collection of exhibits. These include paintings, weapons, local pewter pieces and machinery connected with the town’s industrial heritage.
