The church and graveyard of St Nicholas’
St Nicholas’ Church
Adjacent to the pub is the St Nicholas’ Church an Anglican church originally dating from the 13th century. The tower is from the 15th century. There were also renovations in both the 18th and 19th centuries. The church is renowned for its Australia Chapel, which honors Admiral Arthur Phillip, the first Governor of New South Wales, who was laid to rest there in 1814. The graveyard also houses several other notable tombs.
