Oxford Circus Station, London Tube

Oxford Circus Station on the London Underground in central London is one stop west on the Central Line from Tottenham Court Road. Presently the fourth-busiest station on the network, Oxford Circus is also on the Bakerloo and Victoria lines.

The station opened in 1900 along with the Central Line as a whole. The station is in Zone 1.

Bakerloo, Central & Victoria Lines

The station is on the Bakerloo Line, Central Line, and the Victoria Line of the London Underground network. On the Central Line, the next station heading east is Tottenham Court Road, heading west is Bond Street. For the Bakerloo Line, the next station heading north is Regent’s Park, heading south is Piccadilly Circus. Traveling on the Victoria Line, the next station heading north is Warren Street, heading south is Green Park.

Nearby Oxford Circus

The station is the main point of access for the shopping mecca of Oxford Street with its hundreds of stores, cafes, and restaurants. The station is on the junction of Oxford Street and Regent’s Street with entrances on all four corners of the intersection.

The Courthouse Hotel is a nearby luxury hotel housed in a Grade II Listed building. Nearby pubs include the Argyll Arms and The Finery. There are also several theatres and cinemas nearby including The London Palladium and Regent Street Cinema.
Other nearby attractions include Liberty London, Carnaby Street, the Twist Museum and also The Photographers’ Gallery.

The British Museum is a 20-minute walk away. The Cartoon Museum is seven minutes on foot.

Buses

The following London buses call at the Great Titchfield Street stop near the station: the 55 between Oxford Circus and Walthamstow, the 73 from Holles Street to Stoke Newington, the 98 from Pound Lane / Willesden Bus Garage via Selfridges to Red Lion Square, and the 390 between Archway Station and Victoria Bus Station.

On north-south Regent’s Street the 22 (Putney Common to Oxford Circus), 94 (Acton Green to Piccadilly Circus and Charles II Street), 139 and 159 buses all stop here, as well as several night buses – the N15, N18, N22, N109, N113, and also the N136.
