Virgin Trains had services to Exeter St. David’s Station from Birmingham New Street Station.

Travel time was approximately 2 hours, and 30 minutes for the 160-mile journey.

The company lost the franchise in 2019.

CrossCountry now offers services from Birmingham to Exeter and on to Plymouth with some trains continuing to Paignton and Penzance. The company also has services to Reading via Oxford and Cardiff Central via Cheltenham Spa, Gloucester and Newport. Further Crosscountry trains connect to Edinburgh Waverley via Leeds and Newcastle as well as trains to Leicester, Peterborough and Stansted Airport.

Exeter St David’s Station has direct rail links to Bristol, London Paddington and London Waterloo Station. Local trains from Exeter St David’s stop at Exeter Central. A local bus also connects the two stations in Exeter or it is about 10 minutes to walk.
