Bath Locks, Kennet and Avon Canal

The Bath Locks are a series of locks located on the Kennet and Avon Canal in Bath. The canal links the River Kennet at Newbury to the River Avon at Bath.

History

The canal was opened in 1810 during the Golden Age of canal digging in Britain and is 57 miles long in total. Bath Bottom Lock, numbered as No 7 on the canal, joins the River Avon a little way south of Pulteney Bridge.
