Palladian Architecture in England

Palladian architecture in England is an architectural style derived from the designs of the Venetian architect Andrea Palladio (1508–1580). Palladio’s work draws on the symmetry and perspective to be found in formal classical temple architecture of the Ancient Greeks and Romans.

Palladianism became popular in Britain during the mid-17th century, and it returned to fashion again in the early 18th century.
