John Locke’s Grave, Christ Church, Oxford
John Locke (1632 – 1704) is widely known as the ‘Father of Liberalism’. Locke was an English philosopher and physician and is regarded as one of the most influential Enlightenment-era thinkers.
Locke is also important for his contributions to social contract theory. Visitors to Christ Church Cathedral in Oxford can view Locke’s grave (see below).
