The Crown is a Robinson’s Pub and the cobbled space outside the pub is where the trams in Stockport used to stop in days gone by. At the back of the pub is a hidden gem of a bowling green.

The pub in 2024

A few hundred metres along the A6 towards Stockport on the other side of the road at the junction with Cherry Tree Lane is another Robinson’s pub, the Traveller’s Call. Heading in the other direction past the entrance to Stepping Hill hospital towards Hazel Grove are the George and Dragon and the Anchor.
