Baker Street Station, London Tube

Baker Street Station on the London Underground in central London is in Travel Zone 1. Altogether, Baker Street is on five lines – the Bakerloo, Circle, Hammersmith & City, Jubilee, and Metropolitan lines.

The station opened in 1863 and is one of the oldest stations on the network. It is now an amalgamation of three separate stations.

The busy station is at the intersection of Baker Street and Marylebone Road west of Regent’s Park.

The station is on five lines – the Bakerloo Line, Circle Line, Hammersmith & City Line, Jubilee Line, and Metropolitan Line of the London Underground network.

On the Bakerloo Line, the station is two stops north of Oxford Circus. Then, on the Jubilee Line, it is one stop north of Bond Street. On the Circle and Hammersmith & City lines Baker Street is one stop east of Edgware Road and also one stop west of Great Portland Street.

Nearby Baker Street

The station is close to a number of London’s main attractions including the very popular Sherlock Holmes Museum, Madame Tussauds Wax Museum, Regent’s Park, the Royal Academy of Music, and Lord’s Cricket Ground, the HQ of cricket. There is also a statue of Sherlock Holmes with his pipe and deer-stalker outside the station.

The four-star Holmes Hotel London is a nearby luxury hotel housed in an elegant 18th-century Georgian townhouse on Chiltern Street. There are also several restaurants and pubs in the area catering to the thousands of visitors to the Sherlock Holmes Museum and Madame Tussauds.

The British Museum is a 30-minute walk away. The Cartoon Museum is also 25 minutes on foot.

Buses

The following London buses call at the station. Running towards Marble Arch are the 13, 74, 189, 274, and N74 night bus. Buses running towards Oxford Circus include the 113, 139, and also N113.

Going north towards St John’s Wood and Camden Town are the 13, 113, 139, 189, 274, and N113.

There are also several Santander Cycle docking stations nearby as well.
