Several prominent attractions in Dundee, Scotland are now pleasantly illuminated at night. The light ups not only improve the attractiveness of the inner city area but also provide a certain measure of security after dark. Dundee’s The Courier newspaper reports that the local council has identified various “‘focal points’ in the city that can be lit up in a bid to “enhance” the area.”
Subsequently the local council has set aside around £190,000 for the plan involving London-based building services company Arup.

The V&A Dundee, Caird Hall and The McManus are all now illuminated with subtle LED lighting. Exchange Street, Shore Terrace, Castle Street and Crichton Street are all included in the light up plan.
