Bodkin House, Cotswolds, Gloucestershire
Bodkin House is a 17th-century former coaching inn. The earliest parts of the house date from a 12th-century priory that was destroyed by Henry VIII during the dissolution of the monasteries.
History
The current building began life in the mid 17th century as a coaching inn that served the Bath-Gloucester route. The house was extended and upgraded in the Georgian period.
Many famous people (including Jane Austen who came as a child and later mentioned her visits in her novel Northanger Abbey) have visited the property.

Bodkin House is located on the edge of the beautiful Cotswolds region of southwest England and is conveniently located between the M4 and M5 motorways. The location offers close proximity to Bath and Bristol as well. Take the A46 north from junction 18 on the M4. The house can easily be visited along with nearby Dyrham Park.
Getting to Dyrham Park – just 9 miles from Bath.
