Carnaby Street at Christmas, Central London

Many streets in London put a lot of effort into their lights at Christmas, but few are more famous than Carnaby Street. Located in central London, between Oxford Circus and Soho, it is an incredibly busy shopping area during the Christmas season.

The range of shops in Carnaby includes Paul Smith Soho, Ben Sherman, Levi’s, Barbour, Scotch & Soda, and Choccywoccydoodah, as well as many restaurants and cafes including Carnaby Burger Co, Cinnamon Soho, and The Rum Kitchen.

The street has been an icon of London since the Swinging Sixties

This year the theme of the decorations was robins, compared to last year’s theme of records and music.

The robins were put up on November 14th and will be taken down in early January.

Access – Getting There

The nearest tube stations to Carnaby Street are Oxford Circus (Victoria, Bakerloo & Central lines) and Piccadilly Circus (Piccadilly & Bakerloo lines). Both are less than 5 minutes on foot.

Numerous London buses stop close by including the 3, 6, 12, 13, 15, 23, 88, 94, 139, 159, and 453 to Regent Street and the 7, 8, 10, 25, 55, 73, 98, 176 and 390 buses to Oxford Street.
