Lister Hospital, Chelsea, London
Named after the surgeon and medical pioneer Joseph Lister (1827-1912), who was known as the father of antiseptic surgery, the Lister Hospital is now a private hospital with 57 beds catering to the rich international elite residing in the Chelsea area.

History
The building dates from 1891 as the British Institute of Preventative Medicine, becoming the Jenner Institute and in 1903, renamed the Lister Institute of Preventive Medicine.
The hospital is a Grade II listed building.
The Lister Hospital on Chelsea Bridge Road is close to the River Thames, Chelsea Bridge, Chelsea Physic Garden, the Saatchi Gallery, the former residence of Jerome K. Jerome, the Royal Hospital Chelsea, the National Army Museum and Ranelagh Gardens. Across the River Thames is Battersea Park, Battersea Power Station and the London Peace Pagoda. Walk across Albert Bridge.

The closest tube station to Chelsea Bridge Road is Sloane Square on the District & Circle Line. London bus #137 runs past the hospital.
