Earl’s Court tube station is a station on the London Underground in west London. The station is on the District and Piccadilly lines. Earl’s Court station first opened in 1871. The station is in both TravelCard Zones 1 and 2 and is a major hub in particular for the District Line.

Piccadilly Line

The station is on the Heathrow branch of the Piccadilly Line of the London Underground network and also has Piccadilly line services to Cockfosters and Uxbridge. It lies between Barons Court to the west and Gloucester Road station to the east.

District Line

Earl’s Court is a major hub station on the District Line with trains going to destinations in the north, south, east and west of the city. There are four District Line platforms: Platforms 1 and 2 have eastbound services to Edgware Road and Upminster, while platforms 3 and 4 have westbound services to Wimbledon, Richmond and Ealing Broadway. There is also a part-time service north to Kensington (Olympia).

The station is northwest of the busy, international district of Chelsea and north of Brompton Cemetery and Stamford Bridge, the home of Chelsea FC. To the north is Holland Park and Shepherd’s Bush. West is Hammersmith and to the east is Old Brompton Road and South Kensington.

Earl’s Court has a high concentration of hotels primarily due to its direct links to Heathrow Airport and convenient central location near Kensington, Chelsea, and the major museum district.
